In my experience, natural shampoos are far too often boring plain Castile soaps that strip my hair or they are too rich and rely too heavily on essential oils.
Since my hair is fine and my scalp is oily, I shampoo often and end up with dry, frazzled ends and could not break the cycle, forever envying those who can skip a day (or more!) of shampooing. What is this ‘day two’ hair business I hear people talk about?
Well. That all changed when I gave this a try on a whim many years ago. First of all, you cannot smell the ‘kelp’ at all, and the peppermint is wonderfully uplifting and stimulating if you really work it in. It powerfully cleanses my hair but leaves it Baby Soft even without the (equally beautiful) conditioner sometimes, for Two and, occasionally, even Three (!!) days.
Also, a pleasant surprise was that I noticed new hair growth as the uneven parts of my hairline started to grow in after a few months of use!
My hair is thicker now and better than ever. If you leave the shampoo to rest for a few minutes after lathering, you might feel a very mild but delightful tingle and this seems to make a difference for me with the longevity I get from my washes.
I may revolt if they ever discontinue this one. With the kaia naturals dry shampoo, this oily fine haired gal found her ride or die duo!
